Here is a marriage that lulls us and makes us go straight up in our childhood.
You’ll love the colorful, kitsch and retro inspired wedding of Gemma and Joe. This Irish couple hosted their wedding in the south of France last September. He had a special wish. They wanted their wedding to be more like a big party than a traditional wedding. Here I am at the task of concocting a marriage worthy of the name, where they can fully enjoy their friends and family and spend a day enjoying the food, amazing drinks and music.
Gemma is a fan of vintage trinkets, so she wanted a retro and kitsch atmosphere. Their marriage had to resemble them and show their extravagant personality. The bride and groom had a real wish: the guests had to have fun!
The bride and groom decided to choose France as a destination to celebrate their wedding so that they also spend a few days of family holidays at the same time. They wanted to make a hit stone, wedding and vacation and HOP! Joe’s brothers and sisters all married overseas and, as good memories of this holiday, Gemma and Joe wanted to make the right choice and combine a family vacation with their marriage.
The ideal place for this day was near Toulouse, in the south of France where stood an old farm. The place was peaceful and very quiet so that the little family could relax a few days before and after D-day.
Everyone has helped to organize this beautiful wedding. Each item was put together by the bride and groom and their families, which made the moment even more magical. Joe, a graphic designer, was able to design all the paper articles. When in Gemma, she sewed her own paste and embroidered a great one for the rings. The bride and groom were real do-it-yourselfers, so they took great pleasure in looking after their decorations. They also offered each guest a Playmobil figure.
Gemma wore the groom’s dress from her little girl dreams and a veil made for her by Peekaboo Design Studio in Dublin.
Gemma and Joe are a very simple couple and full of cheerfulness. It was stressful because everything had to be in his place on D-Day, but finally they were not very difficult and did not care if the figure was exactly placed because they were in their happy bubble and in love, and c Is the most beautiful thing you can see.
I’ll let you plunge into the childish world of Gemma and Joe, and maybe this will inspire you for your D-day.
